Our Clinic
The Elk County Eye Clinic was founded in 1986 by Dr. Luis W. Lu.
The building was designed by Mr. Gary Signor, an architect from Harrisburg, native of Emporium, PA. Construction was to be built in four phases. Phase I was to be completed in 1986, and additions to the building were to be made every four years. In 1990, phase two was completed and in 1995, the facility was completed with the addition of phases III and IV.
The Clinic has 10,000 square feet of construction and has well designed areas. It houses a large waiting room, an optical department, business offices, six examining rooms, six diagnostic rooms, three private offices, two lounges, a conference room and library, a slide and video production room, and a surgical area.
The surgical area includes a private waiting area, a laser room, changing rooms for patients and staff, and two, large operating rooms with closed circuit television. There are additional spaces designed for sterilization, storage, etc.
There is ample parking space for 30 cars and space reserved for handicapped patients around the clinic, as well as a loading dock in the back of the building for receiving and docking of mobile operating rooms.
